2. Overview

This is a static informational website. We keep data collection to the minimum required to operate the site securely. We do not use tracking, advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not build user profiles.

3. Hosting

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit the site, Cloudflare automatically processes technical connection data (server log files) such as your IP address, the requested page, date and time, referrer and browser/operating-system information. This processing is necessary to deliver the website and to ensure security and stability. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure, reliable online presence). A data processing agreement is in place with the provider. As Cloudflare may process data in the USA, this is safeguarded by EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

4. Server log files

The hosting provider collects and stores information in server log files that your browser automatically transmits. These are: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing device, time of the server request and IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources and is used solely for technical operation and security.

5. Web fonts (Google Fonts)

To present its content consistently, this site currently loads web fonts (Google Fonts) from Google servers when a page is opened. This transmits your IP address to Google (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a consistent presentation). If you prefer to avoid this, the fonts can also be hosted directly on our own server; see the note below.

6. Local storage (language preference)

To remember your language choice (English or German), this site stores a single value in your browser's local storage. This is technically necessary for the function you requested, contains no personal data and is never transmitted to us or third parties. You can clear it at any time via your browser settings.

7. Contact by email

If you contact us by email, the details you provide (e.g. your name, email address and message) will be processed to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries). We retain this data for as long as necessary to process your request and in line with statutory retention obligations.
